LipoWear Business

LipoWear LLC develops and markets products for selected patient populations, including HIV, cancer and seniors, and addresses specific debilitating problems common to these patient populations.

LipoWear was founded by a long term survivor of AIDS who experienced debilitating sitting due to lipoatrophy.  The management team includes a clinical research executive and scientist and a project management expert.   The first product, SitRelief Shorts, a medically designed, padded undergarment for men, has been clinically tested by physicians and proven to provide significant sitting pain relief and is now on the market.  Women’s SitRelief Shorts are in development. 
 

LipoWear Mission

Our mission is to design and make available products that allow persons with fat and muscle wasting (lipoatrophy and sarcopenia) to increase their quality of life and return to normal activities denied them by the pain and suffering incurred when sitting.
         

Market Opportunities

Lipoatrophy and the accompanying sitting pain is common and generally under reported in several patient populations including HIV/AIDS, seniors and cancer patients.  In the U.S., there are approximately 213,000 HIV/AIDS patients with lipoatrophy and an estimated 17.5 million seniors with lipoatrophy/sarcopenia.  An estimated 5 million cancer patients live with significant weight loss.  
   

Research Philosophy

Our research philosophy is to support each product with appropriate clinical testing to generate scientific data supporting our marketing claims, maximize the product value for the customer and support reimbursement strategies. 

Our products are designed by patients, scientists, physicians and nurses to specifically and selectively meet important medical needs of our customers with lipoatrophy and sitting pain.
